 beautiful and dissapointing swatch body and soul April 11, 2010

Bought a Body and Soul "special" edition, of course more expensive and in Europe. Lasted about 2 years. It says 30 meters, but the crown is not screwed down. Once in a while there is rain. The crown eventually froze and when trying to turn it broke off. I loved my swatch, it was beautiful, wouldn't have traded it for the more expensive automatics. Tried to get it fixed by Swatch USA in New Jersey; they would not help me because I bought it from a dealer and not from Swatch. Tried to get it fixed at Tourneau in NYC, they won't touch it but did not tell me why. Tried to fix it at a nice shop recommended by Tourneau but it would cost about $500 to fix. Sorry, this swatch is not even rain resistant. It is beautiful though.

I love the look of skeleton watches, and I've looked at every single kind, and this one is probably the best one for the price. A lot of other skeleton watches here on Amazon are designer watches that are made in China, not the excellent Swiss craftsmanship that you get with this watch.
This is a mechanical watch, which means it is nowhere near as accurate as a quartz watch. Mine gains a few minutes every month, but that's OK... you're not buying this watch for the accuracy, you're buying it for the nostalgia and aesthetics, and it is a beautiful watch indeed.
One con: the stainless steel bracelet is very prone to scuff marks, I got scratch marks on mine just after a few days of use, but I heard that you can take it to any jeweler to have it polished.

I have had two of these watches. The latest one I have had for more then ten years. I give it five stars because this is a beautiful watch for the price. You have to spend more or get a Chinese knock off to get a watch that is so unique. When I first bought it there were not that many automatics in this price range. Now there are a few, the problem is that they are even less money. I have a timex automatic that is a bit better day to day but at night it does not glow. The timex has markers on the face which is nice.
When coworkers at work say, hey, spent a lot on a watch .... I just point out it is a swatch.
You do have to set it every few days and be carefully with the crystal (or plasticish material in this case). Over time the skeleton back will wear as well. This is a great watch that will last for years but not forever.
